From an early age, Dana had a strong interest in anything horse related. She took riding lessons for many years and participated in 4-H for one year. Dana also attended her younger brother’s therapeutic riding sessions, where she first saw the healing abilities of horses. For many years Dana was not involved with horses, however she took riding lessons in college, which is where she discovered that counseling and horses could be combined. Dana completed her undergraduate internship at Take Heart and returned for her graduate practicum and internship. She graduated in May 2019 from Lancaster Bible College with her bachelor and master degrees in counseling. Dana is working towards her Pennsylvania counseling licensure, and has obtained certification in equine assisted psychotherapy. She is passionate about making an impact in the new field of equine assisted therapy. In her free time, Dana enjoys spending time with friends, traveling, reading, and learning German. Dana counsels a variety of clients at Take Heart as well as offers horsemanship lessons to teach individuals how to partner naturally with a horse.
