Beauty for Ashes:
Empowering Women After Trauma & Abuse
We live in a culture with rampant emotional, physical, and sexual abuse and assault towards women especially. 1 in 6 women will be raped in her lifetime; 1 in 4 will be abused. 1 in 3 women will experience physical violence by an intimate partner. 70% or more of those women will experience moderate to severe distress due to the assault, which can affect their emotional and physical wellbeing, work or school responsibilities, and family and friend relationships. 33% will contemplate suicide.
Depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress symptoms are common for survivors to experience. They may feel numb, hopeless, fearful, broken, angry, or worthless at times. At Take Heart we believe in hope, healing, and wholeness for all – and we are eager to walk with you into restoration and renewal. We believe God brings beauty in places where there were once ashes left by destructive fires.
