Running Free:

Anxiety & Depression Skills Group

Depression and Anxiety are the most common mental health struggles in our nation today. Often working hand-in-hand, depression and anxiety can range from patterns of negative thoughts to crippling fears or suicidal ideation. It can feel overwhelming and hopeless, but we believe freedom is possible for everyone willing to fight back – and we are here to help.
Running Free is 8 weeks of 90-minute interactive equine therapy sessions. Each session includes a topic, activity, and discussion surrounding depression and anxiety. Clients will get to learn and practice proven tools for dealing with and healing from depression and anxiety, such as coping skills and self-regulation, boundaries that empower, self-care plans, challenging negative self-talk and thought processes, and assertive communication and relationship skills. Groups will be available for adults and teens.

Beauty for Ashes:

Empowering Women After Trauma & Abuse
We live in a culture with rampant emotional, physical, and sexual abuse and assault towards women especially. 1 in 6 women will be raped in her lifetime; 1 in 4 will be abused. 1 in 3 women will experience physical violence by an intimate partner. 70% or more of those women will experience moderate to severe distress due to the assault, which can affect their emotional and physical wellbeing, work or school responsibilities, and family and friend relationships. 33% will contemplate suicide.
Depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress symptoms are common for survivors to experience. They may feel numb, hopeless, fearful, broken, angry, or worthless at times. At Take Heart we believe in hope, healing, and wholeness for all – and we are eager to walk with you into restoration and renewal. We believe God brings beauty in places where there were once ashes left by destructive fires.
Beauty for Ashes is 8 weeks of 90-minute interactive, trauma-informed equine therapy sessions. Each session includes a topic, activity, and discussion surrounding healing from trauma and abuse. Clients will get to learn and practice proven tools for dealing with and healing from PTSD, depression, and anxiety. We will work on things like coping skills and self-regulation, setting boundaries that empower, self-care plans, vulnerability & authenticity, challenging negative self-talk and thought processes, taking back control of your story, and assertive communication and relationship skills.

Therapy & Skills Groups

Horses make incredible teachers, listeners, and partners through the hard work of healing. Additionally, being in a group environment challenges the feeling that you are alone in your pain; you will experience encouragement and support from Take Heart team members as well as other group members. The outdoor, peaceful environment inspires creativity, safety, and vulnerability. Therapy for hard things in life does not have to be more stressful; we believe you can learn, grow, and heal while having fun! This can be a great learning or healing experience, no matter where you are in your journey. No horse experience is necessary; our horses are gentle, trained therapists and all activities are done with safety in mind.
