Hank was at a trail riding rental stable but wasn't "earning his keep" as one of the bigger horses. The owner told us they were planning to take him to New Holland auction if nobody had responded to their Craigslist ad.
Hank is smaller than advertised, had ill-fitting tack, had very long feet and needed shots and dental work. His halter-rubbed and was too-tight - resulting in his scarred nose and it breaks our heart. But he gave his all when we rode and did groundwork, and has the good ol' Haflinger personality. He is said to be a Haflinger/Belgian cross (and that's probably not quite right, but definitely some Haffie/draft).
We knew he was going to be a great addition to Take Heart with some TLC and time...with some real care he has shown us how special he is! Hank has blossomed into an extremely friendly, outgoing guy who just loves everyone! His easy going personality and gentle spirit has won all our hearts.

Have you or your child fallen in love with one of our horses here at Take Heart? Want a little memorandum to remember them by? Our own Grant Good is offering his wonderful photography of many of our equine staff available to purchase. Please look at his website for the various options available such as prints, cards, magnets, keychains, mugs, mousepads, ect.

Check back often for new photos added and find your favorite horse to "take home" with you
