Laura’s love of horses began as a child when she took English riding lessons at local barns. After a hiatus from riding due to life events, Laura reignited her passion for horses by literally ‘getting back in the saddle’ working with OTTB’s and performing morning barn duty at a local non-profit horse farm. As an avid equestrian, Laura continues to improve her working knowledge of all aspects of horsemanship and the equestrian life through regular groundwork, grooming, riding, and barn work.
Laura’s love of horses, passion for clinical mental health and desire to serve others organically led her to Take Heart Counseling & Equine Assisted Therapy. She is excited to join the counseling staff and looking forward to providing client-centered, evidence-based equine- assisted therapy at Take Heart. When away from the barn, Laura enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, traveling, and taking naps.
