Take Heart Counseling & Equine Assisted Therapy
Professionalism combined with compassion is the goal of our Counseling & Equine Assisted Therapy program. Our clinical staff love horses, people, and Jesus, and are educated, certified, and trained to provide the best service to our clients. Each therapist has at least a Master’s Degree in counseling or a related field. They are each licensed by the state, or working towards it. Additionally, each therapist has specific trainings to specialize in their personal areas of passion.
We aim to offer the highest standard of care in the Equine Assisted Therapy field, combining multiple evidence-based therapeutic techniques with several evidence-based equine assisted therapy modalities. We most closely follow a model of equine assisted therapy called Natural Lifemanship and each therapist is working towards certification in Trauma Focused Equine Assisted Psychotherapy through NL, because it is evidence-based and trauma-informed, which helps us provide our equine services with both clinical competence and ethical consideration of the horses involved.
