Volunteer

Help to support our mission by joining our volunteer team.

Give back to our community and join our volunteer team. Help to care for these wonderful horses that help people find hope, healing, and wholeness.

Would you like to give back to our community and be part of something bigger? Looking for something that benefits others and gets you involved in a community of people who care? Our volunteer team is a group of fun and caring individuals of all ages and skillsets. Some have prior horse experience, and others do not. Some are full of youth, others have a lot of wisdom to share. But all share one thing in common- a desire to support the mission of Take Heart.

Our primary volunteer need is for help on our barn team (more info below). But, we also have volunteers that help with our events and work days. If you are willing to help, we likely have a spot for you!

For more information, to apply, and find out when the next orientation is, email Noelle at Volunteer@takeheartcounseling.com.

Help our barn staff take care of our horses during barn duty. Every day we have am and pm barn duty shifts where we feed and take care of our horses, as well as complete other chores to help the barn run smoothly.

Morning barn duty runs daily from 8 am to about 10:30 am. We bring in our horses, feed them, check them over, and let them back out.

Evening barn duty runs daily from 6pm to about 7pm. We bring in a few of our horses, give hay to some horses, and complete other chores to get set up for the next day. Times sometimes vary based on season and needs. Please check with our Barn Staff for up to date times.

No horse experience is required! If you are willing to learn, we will teach you everything you need to know. Regardless of level of horsemanship of our volunteers, we walk everyone through how we handle our horses to ensure they receive consistent care and interactions.

We accept volunteers 10 years or older. Volunteers under 16 must have a parent/guardian volunteer alongside them. Our horses are gentle and safe, but they are large and can be unpredictable, and safety is important to us!
