Yoga at the Ranch

Yoga on the Ranch at Take Heart

Outdoor yoga in Berks County, PA | Trauma-informed | All levels welcome

There’s something different about unrolling your mat outside — birdsong instead of background music, open sky instead of a studio ceiling, and the quiet, grounding presence of horses nearby.

Take Heart is proud to partner with Kathleen Epler, a certified trauma-informed yoga instructor and Licensed Social Worker, to bring a deeply restorative yoga experience to our ranch in Wernersville, PA. Each session is thoughtfully modified to welcome every body and every skill level — whether you’re stepping onto a mat for the first time or deepening a longtime practice, you’ll find a warm, unhurried space here.

This is yoga as it was always meant to feel: connected, grounded, and fully present.

Kathleen brings a rare combination of clinical grounding and yoga expertise. Her sessions are warm, accessible, and shaped by her background in social work — meeting each participant exactly where they are.

Yin Yoga on the Ranch

As the earth wakes up and the days grow longer, there’s no better place to slow down than right here. Join us this spring for Yin Yoga on the Ranch — a deeply restorative practice held in the peaceful rhythm of ranch life. Yin invites you to soften, breathe, and simply be, holding gentle poses that release tension held deep in the body and quiet the noise of everyday life. With birdsong, open sky, and the grounding presence of our animal friends nearby, this is yoga as it was always meant to feel.

Common Questions about Yoga on the Ranch

Do I need yoga experience?

Not at all. Every session is designed to welcome first-timers as warmly as experienced practitioners. Kathleen offers modifications throughout so you can work at your own pace and comfort level.

Is this a therapy session?

No — Yoga on the Ranch is a community wellness event, not a clinical therapy session. If you’re curious about equine-assisted counseling or our other therapeutic services, we’d love to chat after class.

Will I be up close with the horses?

The horses are a calming, ambient presence — nearby in the pasture, but you won’t be handling them during yoga. If you’d love to learn more about our equine experiences, ask us about our other programs.

What if I have a physical limitation or injury?

Please mention your concerns on your registration form, so Kathleen can make sure the session is a good fit. We want every participant to feel safe and supported.
