Erin Reilly

MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Level 2 Trained in Natural Lifemanship (Trauma-Focused Equine Assisted Psychotherapy)

The greatest glory in living lies not in never failing, but in rising every time we fall. - Nelson Mandela

Erin has always felt a strong connection to animals. Since she was young, she has been drawn to horses and their natural beauty. She finally took the leap and began riding in summer 2020. Struggling to find the right plan for her life, she learned to let go of anxiety and trusted in God’s plan. Erin believes trusting God is looking to the future with excitement. Through God’s guidance Erin was led to Take Heart. Here, with the help of her equine coworkers, Erin has healed past painful experiences and wishes to share the healing powers of Take Heart with her clients.

Erin has worked with a variety of demographics in numerous clinical settings, including, residential, inpatient, intensive family outpatient and intensive outpatient. Throughout training Erin has developed the skills to specialize in different areas of counseling. Erin specializes working with families who have experienced loss, abandonment, addiction, and traumatic experiences. She also specializes in childhood trauma focusing from an attachment-based perspective.

Counseling a variety of clients at Take Heart, Erin focuses on trauma counseling, comorbidity in children, and family counseling.

Erin graduated from East Stroudsburg University with a major in Counseling Psychology and minor in criminal justice in 2018. What Horses Did For Me...

Horses empowered me to become who I am today. For so long I struggled to find out who I was meant to be and I know I was led to Take Heart for a reason. Horses gave me the confidence and grace to persevere. Horses helped me connect to my body, mind, soul, and spirit through their authenticity. They taught me to be vulnerable and validate my experiences. In their eyes shine stars of wisdom and courage to guide us to the heavens.
