Flicka was purchased as a 4 year old by donor Emily Myers (who boards her horse Mocha at the ranch also). Flicka did rodeo, cross-country, and all kinds of adrenaline sports in her day. Unfortunately, she suffered several accidents which make her now unrideable. At one point, Flicka was leased to a woman who ran off with her and bred her to sell the foals. Three years later, the SPCA found Flicka and the woman who stole her. Flicka was in bad shape, but was returned to Emily, who had never stopped looking for her. Emily restored her to health, and a few years later donated her to Take Heart.

When Flicka was first donated, she was high-spirited and flighty. Over time and with consistent safe interactions with people, Flicka has settled into the sensitive soul she is today. Flicka is now gentle and intuitive. She often encourages clients to become aware of the tension in their body by yawning, sighing, or gently nudging them to encourage relaxation. Flicka  carries a wisdom with her that God uses in powerful ways. Her word from God is “Listen.”
