Better your horsemanship through participation in focus groups designed with both hands-on learning and deep-dives into theory! Groups are available for students at Take Heart or another barn, at any level from beginner to advanced.
Horse Psychology is a four-week group focused on understanding the equine nervous system and how horses perceive, process, and respond to the world around them. Participants learn to interpret behavior, body language, and emotional states to communicate more clearly and compassionately. This group builds the skills needed to work with horses in a way that feels intuitive, respectful, and grounded in how horses naturally think and learn.
Liberty & Connection 101 is a four-week group horsemanship experience focused on building trust, communication, and mutual respect between horse and human. Through guided liberty exercises and groundwork, participants learn to read subtle cues, regulate their own energy, and develop a calm, confident presence. This supportive group setting encourages personal growth, deeper connection, and a strong foundation for partnership without force.
Coming Back to Connection is a four-week group designed for adults returning to horses and riding after time away. With an emphasis on safety, confidence, and listening to both yourself and your equine partner, participants rebuild skills while reconnecting with the joy of horsemanship. The group offers a supportive, pressure-free environment to rediscover trust, curiosity, and connection with horses.
